Hail 2009!

This is the last day of the year 2009, the last year of the 21st century's first decade, and what a year it was! Wouldn't you agree? Well, it was for me. A lot of things happened. Let's see how many I can list that made things good in my favor.

  • January 20, 2009 - Obama is inaugurated as the first African-American president of the United States. Definitely a great way to kick off the year, what with history in the making! No bashes on this one, but I was supporting Obama right from Day 1. If anyone thinks anyone could do better, it's because they haven't fully acknowledged who sent our country into near ruin in the first place. But let's get a move on, shall we?
  • My brother and I discovered the online games Duel Monsters Expert and Duel Monsters Unlimited, based on the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. We eventually gave up on Expert due to issues with cards and other users, but we still check out Unlimited every now and then.
  • March 10, 2009 - Julien-K's debut album, Death to Analog hit stores and iTunes this day. I waited two years for this album to be released! I could have purchased it on iTunes, but I wanted to own a copy of their CD, so I made a reservation at Newbury Comics for one.
  • May 22, 2009 - I joined YouTube.
  • July 9, 2009 - I joined SMWCentral.
  • July 22, 2009 - I created my blog site.
  • September 17, 2009 - I finally uploaded my first web site!
  • September 29, 2009 - Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days was released in stores across the country. My brother and I made plans to go to the Maine Mall and purchase our copies!
  • I started watching episodes of Phineas and Ferb and got hooked on the series. Currently, I have seen all 84 episodes up to date, including the Christmas special.
  • December 7, 2009 - Phineas and Ferb Christmas Vacation became available on iTunes and I purchased it. Between then and Christmas, I saw the special 10 times!
  • December 8, 2009 - The soundtrack of the same special was available on iTunes and I purchased it. I've practically got all seven songs memorized, if not, at least six.
  • December 18, 2009 - I uploaded a video on YouTube, showing that after three years of getting back into drawing, I did a Christmas theme for my original characters.
  • During the Christmas season, I made half a dozen Christmas cards featuring one of my original characters and handed them all out to some friends, and in one case, someone I wanted as a friend.
  • Christmas 2009 - I got what I asked for and as a half surprise, got the Phineas and Ferb video game for the Nintendo DS! Because my family was well aware of my obsession with the series, I figured I'd be getting it as a gift.
Now that New Year's Eve is here, it's usually a good time to reflect on the year and all that has happened. In the news, it is a time of loss, as many well known people that changed faces are no longer living. Some of us are always hoping that next year will be better than the last, right? In that case, let's see what the year 2010 brings for us! Happy New Year! And Happy 2010!
