In case it's not obvious news by now, Disney has purchased a $4.5 billion deal to own the rights to LucasFilms, including the prized Star Wars franchise. Adding on to that, since the deal has been sealed, Disney has already started working on a new Star Wars trilogy, beginning with Episode VII, set for a release in 2015. As with them owning the rights to Marvel, besides owning LucasFilms for the sake of making lots of money, which is pretty much all that Disney wants anyway, this new deal may just prove to make LucasFilms stuff even better. But it's gonna be interesting to see how these new Star Wars films will run with Disney in charge.
