Maelstrom in Maine

Actually, it wasn't really that at all. It was a nor'easter with the force of a category 1 hurricane. The whole southern Maine area got slammed hard, causing a widespread power outage. My family and I went 39 hours without power. I may have been absent for at least a day, but do any of you get that feeling that even though you're only gone a day a lot can happen? I did.

Arcadia Arrival

If what is believed is true, then today is the official English release of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's World Championship 2010: Reverse of Arcadia. Those of you who remember Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's World Championship 2009: Stardust Accelerator, you should know this. This new game has a story mode twice as long, the gameplay is twice as difficult, and there's twice the features that this game holds as opposed to its predecessor. So, for those of you who are new to this gaming series, you might be in for a rough start, lest the English version has downed the difficulty, which is unlikely. If you're a veteran of these series, you're still in for a long, rough road! Prepare yourself for the toughest Yu-Gi-Oh! card game challenges so far! You'll need to be more than a skilled duelist to win the games, so get set to get your game on!

Sonic the Hedgehog 4

In case the news isn't obvious, the blue blur Sonic the Hedgehog is finally returning to his old gaming roots after 16 years. Just as Megaman did for the games Mega Man 9 and Mega Man 10, Sonic is sure to please all those fans who couldn't stand his 3-D adventures. Sure, the graphics and environment may look 3-D, but the platform gaming style is 2-D. Evidently, this game is broken down into episodes, which will be available to download for next-gen consoles as well as iPhone. The first episode is currently set for release this July. With other Sonic characters getting rejected left and right, however, it looks as though only Sonic will be the hero at this rate as far as playable characters go, but let's just wait and see what happens.

Two Bad Pokémon

This just in... the silhouetted Pokémon from before has been revealed early and like Lucario from Diamond and Pearl, it has a pre-evolutionary form as well. As expected, only the Japanese names have been revealed, so it'll be quite a while before English names see the light of day. Until then, feel free to revel in the awesomeness of two new Pokémon, officially marking the start of a whole new generation. What makes them bad, you say? Well, their names translate to the meanings "evil fox" and "monster fox", so this may be a clue towards the feral Pokémon's role as the Phantom Champion.
And with a shadowy side of Ash existing, there's not much that can prove that the new Pokémon has a good side, but twists and turns may surprise us yet. Ash sees double... make that double trouble! Japanese audiences will be the first to know what happens!

That's right, this guy's an evil little fox!

Pokémon 5th Generation

I guess this has been argued several times, but this is official. Nintendo itself has confirmed a silhouette of a brand-new Pokémon destined to appear in an upcoming Japanese movie known as Phantom Champion Z. It is unknown who this mysterious Pokémon is, but all that is known is that he exists in a new land with many more new Pokémon and that its role is a key to the new movie. So fans, put your fifth generation fan art and creations aside (or rename them 6th or 7th generation for that matter, I really don't care), because the 5th generation of Pokémon is official... and it's starting sometime later this year! Let the music play!

On This Our Wedding Adventure

As I mentioned in a previous post, this month marks the start of the remaining Season 2 episodes of Phineas and Ferb! And it looks like they're gonna wrap up very well! Here's a picture from the newest episode, "Candace's Big Day", in which Aunt Tiara agrees to marry Captain Bob Webber from one of the first Season 2 episodes, "The Lake Nose Monster". And Candace suggests that the wedding be held in her family's backyard just so she can be the maid of honor, something she had been practicing for a few years. But Phineas and Ferb decide to help celebrate Aunt Tiara's marriage in style by building a giant ice sculpture in remembrance of their many adventures they shared together. But the real news I have to share in this post is that iTunes is apparently keeping up to speed on the show, as today they put up the episodes that aired yesterday on Disney XD, just like "Phineas and Ferb's Christmas Vacation". So, if you've got an account and the money, and if you're a huge fan collecting the episodes, what are you waiting for? Go and download 'em!
